FLORIDA DIRECTORS

Dewey Schoenfelder:

Lacrosse has been a central part of Coach Dewey Schoenfelder’s life for nearly 20 years, beginning as a young player in Mount Airy, Maryland. Where he played for Zingos, and South Carroll High School until he graduated in 2020. He developed into a skilled attackman before continuing his career at Howard Community College. At Howard, he contributed to the Dragons team that advanced to the 2022 NJCAA Men’s Lacrosse National Championship game, finishing as national runner-up.

He then continued his collegiate lacrosse career at the University of Bridgeport in Connecticut. During his three seasons with the Purple Knights, Schoenfelder appeared in over 40 games. In 2024, he recorded 25 goals and 26 assists, helping lead Bridgeport to its first conference playoff appearance in program history. That same season, he was recognized as a two-time CACC Player of the Week and named to the CACC Academic Honor Roll.

During his time at HCC, Coach Schoenfelder began coaching in Maryland with the Baltimore Crabs Lacrosse Club, serving as Head Coach for the 2026 “Hardshells.” After relocating to Florida after securing his Bachelor’s in Computer Science, he became the Boys Varsity Head Coach at Matanzas High School. In addition, he serves as the Director and Head Coach of the Florida Zingos Lacrosse Club, providing players with year-round development and national recruiting exposure.

Several of Coach Schoenfelder’s players have gone on to compete in the NCAA at DI, DII, and DIII programs. He continues to create opportunities for athletes in Palm Coast and the Northeast Florida region. He has organized and directed practices and competitive training sessions with a focus on player development, skill development, and culture building.

 

DIRECTORS

Mike Senisi:

Mike Senisi has been involved with youth, high school and collegiate sports for over 30 years.  As a former player at SUNY Cortland, collegiate soccer coach at Cazenovia College, founder/director of youth sports programs, high school athletic director, and a high school lacrosse coach, he understands the true significance of proper instruction and development at every age level. Mike’s undergraduate degree was obtained from SUNY at Cortland and earned a Master's degree from Oregon State University. He continued his educational career at Johns Hopkins University where he received his graduate certificate in School Administration and Supervision.

Mike has been with the Howard County Public School System (HCPSS) for over 28 years and is currently the Athletic Director at Atholton HS. He has served in many additional roles with HCPSS including assistant principal at Swansfield Elementary School, Instructional Facilitator for Physical Education, interim Coordinator of Athletics, and an Adapted Physical Education teacher. Mike has been recognized as a Who’s Who Among America’s Teachers by the National Academic Affairs Division, as well as the Adidas MD State Coach of the Year, twice. With Mike’s experience and knowledge of the game, he is a true asset to the Zingos lacrosse program.

Ken Senisi

Coach Senisi began playing lacrosse as a child growing up in Massapequa, New York. While playing for St. John the Baptist, Coach Senisi was recognized two-times as an all Long Island Defenseman.  He then continued playing both lacrosse and football at Dean College in Franklin, Massachusetts. At Dean College, Senisi was selected as the first ever two sports captain.  As the recipient of the Male Athlete of the Year at Dean College, he was also honored as an All-American Defenseman and was inducted into  the Dean College Hall of Fame.  Upon completion at Dean College, he played in the North-South All-Star game at Johns Hopkins University. He continued his collegiate lacrosse career at Salisbury University. Upon graduating from Salisbury University, Senisi began a teaching and coaching career in Howard County, Maryland.  In 1999, he began coaching at Centennial High School.  In 2005, he moved to Marriotts Ridge High School where he was the Defensive Coordinator, coaching the team to its first regional championship and first final four state appearance.  In 2008, Senisi returned to Centennial High School serving as the Defensive Coordinator.  In his first year returning to Centennial, he coached the team to the state championship game.  In the summer of 2011, Coach Senisi was selected as the Howard Community College Head Men’s Lacrosse Coach.  In his first year at HCC, he took his team to the regional XX championship.  The HCC Dragons completed their season ranked 6th in the country.  In his second year, the team played in the semi-final regional XX game and finished their season ranked 7th in the country.  Several of Coach Senisi’s players have continued their lacrosse careers at Division I, II, and III colleges and universities across the country.  He has also coached several all star and showcase lacrosse games, most notably, the Under Armor Junior College All-American Game in Towson.  In addition to his coaching credentials, Senisi has organized and developed several lacrosse camps throughout Maryland.   Coach is also a two time US Lacrosse coach of the year.
